Headed by Alan Lord and supported by County manager Jim Gannon, the Stockport County Pro Football Academy delivers full-time football and education programmes for talented young footballers aged 16-19
Alan and Jim are highly regarded in football and have well-documented track records for developing talent – Wales captain Ashley Williams and Cardiff City winger Anthony Pilkington to name but two of many.
Now the duo want to develop the best in Stockport. If you’re aged 16+ and are serious about football, that could be you.
Academic provision for players within the Academy is delivered in partnership with Stockport College, with a new HNC course added to the current Extended Diploma courses enabling players to spend an extra year being developed by the club.
Our academic qualifications are recognised by UK universities and students who don’t immediately proceed to full-time football can follow a range of career pathways including physiotherapy, coaching and sports science.
