Stockport County Pro Football Academy are looking to recruit the best players aged 16-19 years old for their increasingly successful youth development programme. The academy who provide a ‘full-time’ football and education programme for aspiring young footballers have handed professional contracts to their players in each of the last 3 seasons.
Academy manager Alan Lord says ” We provide the perfect pathway. The manager James Gannon heads the coaching programme where he monitors the players progress on a daily basis – I don’t know of any other club who has that situation. Every player who comes into the academy as a school leaver will train and be coached by the manager each day. The manager also has a reputation for producing young players into the 1st team, it really is the perfect pathway”.
The academy also has an unbelievable games programme with no fewer than 4 squads operating on various days and evenings.
- Our under 18 Youth Development squad.
- Our under 18 Lancs FA Floodlight League squad
- Our under 18 North West Youth Alliance squad
- Our under 19 National Youth Alliance squad
Alan adds “Any young talented player coming into the academy programme at the age of 16 can see a pathway from that point straight through to the 1st team. Its unique, a training and match day programme that is overseen by the 1st team manager”.
Alongside the football programme is a recognised BTEC National Diploma in Sport education course, which can provide the player/student with qualifications suitable for a career in sport, entry to university and even the prospect of a scholarship in America.
Stockport County Pro Football Academy believe that we provide the best opportunity for young talented players to realise their dream of a career in football.
